Vista64, VB 2008, and hwinterface compatibility 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I have, (finally), upgraded from an old computer running XP to a new one running Vista 64 bit Home Edition. On the XP computer I used VB 2005 Express Edition, with HWINTERFACE.OCX to control the parallel port. I have installed VB 2008 Express Edition on the Vista computer, but when I try to add HWINTERFACE.OCX to my program, named PortTest1, I get the following error message:

"Unable to add the following reference to PortTest1:
hwinterface ActiveX Control module - Please make sure that
the file is accessible, and that it is a valid assembly or COM compenent."

Is it me, (I'm not adding it properly), or is it HWINTERFACE, (not a valid assembly or COM component)?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,
davepal
